How Taking Action Steps Can Change Your Lifes Path

Taking actionable steps is not always easy for us; it takes courage, determination, and sometimes someone to hold your hand.

During my conversation with Melissa Fino of Love Your Life Community, she shares that even at a very young age, she felt pressure to be someone she really wasn't, and because of that ended up dropping out of high school.

As the years moved on, Melissa did as many of us do, she got a job and stayed there for 10 years because it paid the bills.

During those years, she felt stagnant, living the same day over and over again and not taking action to change it.

When Melissa lost her father, that's when she realized how precious life is ("we tend to take life for granted"), and that's when she decided it was time to be the person she felt her dad saw in her, but she was not ready to see for herself.

Melissa took her first action step and went back to school. That was the first step that led her to so many bigger steps. She laughs, thinking about how she was once a high school drop out to earning her Masters at USC in social work.

"My educational experience was the most expensive form of therapy"

Why did Melissa start Love Your Life Community? She felt that if they're so many things, she could change about herself that there had to be other women that felt the same way, and maybe they needed help.

I loved what Melissa shared with me, "Failure is the most amazing thing in the world you're actually trying, learning, and taking lessons."

I believe we have been taught that failure is a bad word because in society, you either win or lose, there is no middle ground.

I appreciate how conversations are shifting, and we are learning that taking action steps are a process we need to do to move anything forward.

If you are nervous about taking an action step, find someone, you trust and ask them to help and guide you through the process. It's okay to be vulnerable and ask for help. Remember it takes a tribe, so please, find your tribe or reach out to Melissa and see how she can help you.

I would love to hear what action steps you have taken lately. Drop them in the comments, and let's get the conversation started.
